Container handling crane, also called as container gantry crane or ship to shore container crane, is a kind of large dock gantry crane, used to load multimodal containers from container ships. Container cranes comprise a supporting frame, long enough to cross the dock or yard. The crane is equipped with a specialized hook-free hoist.
